FLUIDOS at AIOTI Days 2024: Driving Innovation in the Edge-to-Cloud Continuum
FLUIDOS participated in AIOTI Days 2024, held in Brussels on the 24th and 25th of September 2024, in Brussels. This significant event brought together key players from the IoT and Edge Computing ecosystems, offering a platform to discuss the latest advancements and collaboration opportunities shaping Europe’s digital transformation.
The presentations during the session were:
Overview and Concept of FLUIDOS: Led by Fulvio Risso (Politecnico di Torino), the session introduced the FLUIDOS project, emphasising its unique approach to sharing resources and services within the edge-to-cloud continuum.
Sharing Resources and Services with the REAR Protocol: Fulvio provided a deep dive into how FLUIDOS enables seamless communication and resource sharing through the REAR protocol, ensuring scalability, security, and efficiency across the continuum.
Carbon and energy-efficiency in the Edge-to-Cloud continuum: Nasir Asadov (Technische Universität Berlin) showcased FLUIDOS’ commitment to sustainability, with a live demonstration of carbon-aware workload deployment based on carbon intensity and hardware utilisation.
Enforcing Security on the Edge-Cloud Continuum: Luis Knob (Fondazione Bruno Kessler) explored the critical role of security in ensuring confidentiality, integrity and availability, demonstrating real-world scenarios where FLUIDOS mitigates vulnerabilities in multi-provider environments.
FLUIDOS: How is it being used?: Andy Edmonds (Terraview) talked on how FLUIDOS is being used in real world companies and use cases and demonstrated what the key functionalities from a user’s perspective are.
Collaboration Opportunities through FLUIDOS’ 2nd Open Call
James Philpot (DIGITAL SME Alliance) discussed the ongoing Open Call (deadline: 4 October), which offers up to €600,000 in total funding for selected demonstrators to implement new use cases.
