FLUIDOS Consortium Meeting in Crete – 1-3 October 2024
The FLUIDOS consortium gathered in beautiful Crete for a highly anticipated face-to-face meeting from October 1-3, 2024. The meeting was hosted by the Hellenic Mediterranean University in its premises in Heraklion. Over the course of three productive days, project partners convened to discuss the progress made in the past months and chart the path forward as the project moves into its next phase.
Day 1: Technical Deep-Dive
The first day kicked off with a warm welcome and opening remarks by the project coordinators, who set the tone for the discussions ahead. The day was dedicated to reviewing technical advancements, with a focus on the demonstration and features of the pilots. Key insights into the role of the FLUIDOS node and REARv2 were shared, highlighting the technical contributions of different work packages to the project’s overall progress.
The technical session also covered the FLUIDOS architecture, with discussions around how to seamlessly glue together all components for Y3. Technical leaders provided updates on the architecture and its components, emphasising how the team is preparing for the successful deployment and integration of FLUIDOS technology in the upcoming months.
Day 2: Work Packages Status and Strategic Planning
On the second day, the work-package leaders highlighted the progress, challenges and solutions that have emerged over the second year’s reporting period. An update on the status of the software components was provided, covering details on the GitHub organisation and the next steps for the upcoming FLUIDOS Meta-OS release were discussed.
Day 3: Community Building and Planning Ahead
The final day focused on aligning future objectives, ensuring that all partners are working cohesively towards the common goals of the project. Community building and dissemination efforts were reviewed and partners explored how to engage key stakeholders through outreach and communication efforts in the coming months. Planning for future developments, especially in relation to the project’s technical roadmap and engagement with the broader research and innovation community, was a key focus area.
The discussions were wrapped up with a clear set of actions and priorities for the months ahead, ensuring the consortium remains on track to deliver on its commitments.
