FLUIDOS makes impactful contributions at ENS 2024 Workshop

FLUIDOS’s team members showcased their innovative research at the 3rd International Workshop on Edge Network Softwarization (ENS 2024), part of the IEEE International Conference on Network Softwarization (NetSoft 2024), held June 24-28, 2024, in St. Louis, USA.
The workshop, a focal point for discussions on the softwarization of network infrastructure at the edge, featured two notable presentations from the FLUIDOS project:
Daniele Cacciabue (Politecnico di Torino) delivered insights from his paper, “Benchmarking Different Strategies for Offloading ROS2 Computation to the Edge“, highlighting effective strategies for dynamic computation movement between robotics and edge systems. This research is pivotal in enhancing operational efficiency and responsiveness in robotic applications.
Simultaneously, Stefano Galantino (Politecnico di Torino) presented “Building the Cloud Continuum with REAR” emphasising the role of the REAR protocol in creating standardised interfaces that enhance interoperability, improve resource allocation efficiency, and secure workload execution across the cloud continuum.
Both presentations underscored FLUIDOS’s commitment to advancing edge computing technologies and fostering discussions on future-proof network solutions that promise enhanced performance, privacy, and cost-efficiency.
