FLUIDOS highlights cybersecurity expertise at SecSoft 2024

On June 28, 2024, FLUIDOS team members participated in the 6th International Workshop on Cyber-Security in Software-defined and Virtualized Infrastructures (SecSoft), held in St. Louis, USA. The workshop, part of the 10th IEEE International Conference on Network Softwarization (NetSoft2024), brought together experts from across the globe to discuss the latest advancements in cybersecurity within software-defined and virtualized environments. SecSoft24 is a joint initiative from the projects: FLUIDOS project, RIGOUROUS, Dynabic-eu, AI4CYBER, ELECTRON, and SUPERVIZ.
Three papers from the FLUIDOS project were presented, showcasing the project’s latest research. These presentations highlighted innovative strategies and solutions developed within FLUIDOS to enhance the security of software-defined infrastructures—a critical component of the project’s goals.
Key Contributions at SecSoft 2024:
- Cybersecurity for Smart Grids: The sessions delved into cutting-edge threat modelling, analysis and mitigation strategies designed to protect smart grid resources. This knowledge-driven approach is essential for safeguarding critical infrastructure against increasingly sophisticated cyber threats.
- Innovations in Cybersecurity: FLUIDOS’s participation in the “Cyber Security funded projects’ session provided a platform to share the project’s objectives, challenges and technical achievements with the broader cybersecurity community. Insights into our novel security frameworks were well-received, with substantial interest from fellow researchers and practitioners.
The workshop not only facilitated a rich exchange of ideas but also underscored the importance of collaboration across academia, industry and government to advance cybersecurity measures. FLUIDOS’s contributions to discussions on securing the cloud-to-edge continuum were particularly notable, reflecting our commitment to leading-edge research and development in the field.
Engagement and Future Collaborations: Participation in SecSoft 2024 provided an excellent opportunity for FLUIDOS team members to engage with other leading cybersecurity experts and fellow EU funded projects and lay the groundwork for future collaborations. These interactions are invaluable for staying at the forefront of technological advancements and ensuring the relevance and impact of our research.
