Exploring Policy-Based Orchestration across Distributed Infrastructures with a FLUIDOS demo
FLUIDOS has unveiled another demonstration showcasing policy-based orchestration and enforcement across distributed infrastructures. Leveraging the UMU orchestrator, the demo highlights how FLUIDOS dynamically allocates resources to meet stringent user-defined policies within the cloud-edge continuum.
The demonstration begins with two nodes, Node A and Node B, operating within a distributed infrastructure. Node A, possessing limited resources, receives a policy requiring the deployment of an HTTP server with a CPU constraint of at least three. The orchestrator’s intelligent workflow ensures that even when Node A cannot meet the requirements, additional resources are acquired through the REAR protocol to fulfill the policy.
Key features of the demo include:
- Dynamic Resource Allocation: The orchestrator intelligently identifies peering candidates and dynamically incorporates Node B into the resource pool.
- Policy Enforcement: Constraints are met by deploying NGINX on Node B, ensuring seamless compliance with the user-defined policy.
- Transparent Resource Management: The REAR protocol enables efficient negotiation and resource sharing across nodes.
This demonstration exemplifies FLUIDOS’ commitment to innovation in cloud-edge orchestration, offering scalable and efficient solutions for complex infrastructures. Watch the demo on our YouTube channel to see how FLUIDOS is reshaping resource management across the computing continuum.
