FLUIDOS Partners convene in Rome for a milestone meeting
This March, the historic city of Rome played host to a pivotal gathering of the FLUIDOS project partners. Held over two days, from March 5th to 6th, 2024, this face-to-face meeting was an opportunity to review the project’s progress, deliberate on future directions, and strengthen the collaborative bond within the consortium.
The meeting commenced with a warm welcome and an overview of the meeting objectives by Albert Seubers and Angelos Alexopoulos from Martel Innovate, alongside Fulvio Risso from Politecnico di Torino (POLITO). The agenda was packed with discussions on various work packages (WPs), addressing everything from the Year 2 pilots to the FLUIDOS architecture and components.
Highlights included an in-depth presentation on the current status and future plans of the REARv2 extension by Stefano Galantino and his team from POLITO, and a detailed review of the project’s architecture by Fulvio Risso and colleagues. The sessions also touched upon major issues, deviations and upcoming plans, shedding light on individual and integrated software components, which were insightfully discussed by Lorenzo Moro from TOPIX and Stefano Braghin from IBM.
The meeting concluded with a session on the status of software components and the FLUIDOS meta-OS release, led by Eduardo Cánovas Martínez from University of Murcia and Guillem Gari from Robotnik Automation, setting a clear roadmap for the project’s forthcoming year.
The Rome meeting was not just about strategic planning and project updates; it was a testament to the consortium’s dedication and synergy. As FLUIDOS moves forward, the insights and decisions from this gathering are set to propel the project towards its ambitious goals, fostering innovation at the intersection of cloud, edge, and IoT computing.
